1.) Bombardier Transportation: Bombardier Wins 311 Million Euro Order From SNCF for 67 Additional High-Capacity AGC Trains

Bombardier Transportation announced today that it received an additional order for 67 high-capacity trains AGC type (Autorail Grande Capacite) from the French National Railways (SNCF). The SNCF represents the French Regions in this transaction, which is valued at about 311 million euros ($ 416 million US). The total number of firmly ordered AGC trains is now 679. Deliveries of these trains are scheduled to begin in August 2009.

The SNCF signed an initial contract, on December 13, 2001, for the supply of 500 AGC trains. Under that contract, an amendment was agreed last November for the supply of up to 200 additional trains and an increased pace of delivery. At the time, 112 trains were ordered and today, the SNCF confirmed their order for another 67.

Twenty-one French regions have ordered AGC trains to date.

2.) BOMBARDIER TRANSPORTATION: Bombardier Selected by French National Railways SNCF to Supply the Future Ile-de-France Commuter Train

Bombardier Transportation today announced that it has been selected by SNCF, French National Railways, to supply the future Ile-de-France commuter train, after a call for tenders launched in February 2004. The contract is for the delivery of a total of 372 trains that will operate on the Greater Paris / Ile-de-France suburban network, and includes an initial order of 172 trains valued at an estimated $1.7 billion US (1.35 billion euros). The total value of the contract is estimated at $3.4 billion US (2.7 billion euros). SNCF announced its decision at the conclusion of its Board meeting on 25 October 2006, convened to review the opinion of its contract committee.

Contract signing is expected to take place in the near future. Delivery of the first trains is scheduled to begin in November 2009 and continue until 2015. The new train will be designed, manufactured and built at the Bombardier Transportation facility in Crespin, in the Valenciennes region, France.

Maine Public Service Company (MPS), a wholly owned utility subsidiary of Maine & Maritimes Corporation (AMEX: MAM), has received final approval from the Maine Public Utilities Commission (MPUC) to increase its electric delivery rates, effective July 15, 2006. MPS is a regulated electric transmission and distribution utility serving portions of Northern Maine.

MPS received approval of a Stipulation in MPUC Docket No. 2006-24 that, among other things, will increase total electric delivery rates by 3.84% or $1,327,150. The increase affected three components of the delivery rate; distribution, transmission, and conservation. Freewest Resources Canada Inc.
